Welcome to LottaWadda Beach

Welcome to LottaWadda Beach, my newest MicroMiniature project. Right now it's still in the conceptual and design stage, but I'm gathering the information, components, equipment and supplies needed for construction. This will be the largest and most ambitious project I've attempted yet. When completed, it will measure 48x30 inches and will include about 20 different buildings and structures. I'll try to post photos of each phase of the construction.

For right now, head on over to the LottaWadda History page and read all about the story behind the project.

Be sure to check in on my Visitor Globe as well. I'd love to hear your comments.

And please, check back often for progress.

LottaWadda, the movie??

A very dear friend of mine, after having read the LottaWadda history, wrote to me to tell me that the story made her think of two movies, Indian Summer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107212/), from 1993

and Shag (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098300/), from 1989.

This got me to thinking about other movies that may (or may not) have had some subconscious influence on my writing of the story.  Some of these would be:

Daddy Day Camp (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462244/), from 2007;

Beach Blanket Bingo (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058953/), from 1965;

Bait Shop (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1176725/), from 2008;

Where the Boys Are (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054469/), from 1960

and the remake (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088395/), from 1984;

Meatballs III: Summer Job (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093516/), from 1987;

and One Crazy Summer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091680/), from 1986 (love the car made into a boat scene!).

As I thought about this, it also brought to mind pictures I'd seen of the beaches in Crimea and Rio, something like these:

I'm really not planning on my beach being quite that crowded, but gee, it sure would be fun to make it that way.

Anyway, all this musing has me now thinking it's time for a quick visit to the video rental place to get a load of beach movies. I'm sure my husband will LOVE all the bikinis! I'll see you in a few days. Right now, I've got some movie watchin' to do!
